Nicky's 40th Birthday Bucket Challenge List

For her 40th birthday, Nicky Holgate-Smith has set herself a personal goal to complete a "Bucket List Challenge".

Read about Nicky's motivation for her Bucket List Challenge.

"I am delighted to be supporting Philips Footprints for 2015 because with my 40th birthday looming in December I can think of no better way to handle being 40 other than to undertake a number of Bucket list  challenges!!! As I type this now I am half watching Miranda on the tv who is also doing a Bucket List challenge - hers seem much easier and less daunting them mine!!!!!

A lot of the decision making for me wanting to do something for charity stems from the tragedy my own family have gone through.

Without being morbid you don't know what the future holds and I want to make the most of 2015 and turning the BIG 40 - I want to be able to look back on this year with pride and say "Nicky ya did good!!!". My family have always been keen charity supporters as my cousin sadly passed away aged 42 from breast cancer on New Year's Eve 2001 leaving behind three children, followed by my Uncle (my Father's brother) on 11 February 2006 from cancer. My Father passed away 12 February 2007 from Motor Neurone Disease, my Fathers best friend passed away February 9 2014 and sadly my Mother has a debilitating disease called Dystonia.

When I spoke to Jo about her Charity I knew instantly I wanted to support Philips Footprints, as Jo reaches out to the community in their darkest hours despite suffering such a loss herself, Jo struck a chord with me.

I cant wait to undertake my challenges and I hope that people will really get behind me and in turn generously donate to Philips Footprints and make a difference to the lives of others.

Bring it on 2015!!!!! Let the Challenges commence!"
