Baby Lifeline - Predict to Prevent
April - we are absolutely delighted to be sponsoring 35 places for midwives from both Jersey and Guernsey to attend the Predict to Prevent training course. This course covers such topics as:-
* identifying women at risk of preterm birth
* prediction and prevention of prematurity
* care of the baby due to be born preterm
* identifying pregnancies at risk of SGA
* optimal methods for diagnosing the small baby
* antenatal identification of babies at risk of stillbirth
* strategies to reduce stillbirth
* optimal assessment of fetal wellbeing: fetal movements, growth
and Doppler scans, antenatal CTG

I have often wanted to find a way that Philip’s Footprints could be proactive and actually prevent the death of a baby and this high quality course fits the bill perfectly.
This year sees the start of a busy year for the charity with Nicky Holgate-Smith commencing her 40th Birthday Bucket List Challenge - whilst fundraising for Philip's Footprints.

Nicky has set herself a personal goal to complete her 40th Birthday Bucket List Challenge this year. Events include an abseil from Mont Orgueil in February, a cake sale in March, a 24 hour triathlon, a moonlight walk, sponsored roller blading, 24 hour netball challenge, sewing challenge. More events to be added.
