Wireless Fetal Monitors

What makes them better than wired monitors?

As well as providing continuous monitoring of the health and safety of baby, mothers can move freely during every stage of labour and it offers flexible birthing options, such as water births and natural delivery after c-section. Evidence also shows mothers who are mobile have significantly shorter labour lengths and we anticipate a reduction in the number of caesarean sections as being mobile and upright is the optimum position for shorter labours and successful, safe births. Improving outcomes for Jersey babies!

In 2017, following on from the successful joint charity Baby Bean Appeal in 2016 which raised funds for 5 wireless fetal monitors,Philip's Footprints was delighted to secure funding for 6th wireless fetal monitor for the Antenatal Ward.

In 2018, our 10th anniversary 'Starlight Ball' raised nearly £7,000 towards a 7th wireless fetal monitor, with our never-to-be-forgotten celebrity film screening in Jersey of 'You, Me and Him' with David and Georgia Tennant, Sally Phillips, Nick Owen, Christian Brassington, Tessie Orange Turner and Bev Bevan raising the balance of funds required. What an amazing result!

Baby Bean Appeal

Our joint charity appeal in Jersey, the Baby Bean Appeal, fundraised for 5 wireless foetal monitors for Jersey Maternity, one for every delivery room. As well as providing continuous monitoring of the health and safety of baby, mothers can move freely during every stage of labour and it offers flexible birthing options, such as water births and natural delivery after c-section. Evidence also shows mothers who are mobile have significantly shorter labour lengths and we anticipate a reduction in the number of caesarean sections as being mobile and upright is the optimum position for shorter labours and successful natural births.

We are delighted that all 5 wireless foetal monitors have been purchased and the feedback from both mums-to-be and midwives has been overwhelmingly positive.
